Introduction
Hi, my name is jim kearney. If you are not living in or near Broward County, Florida the chances are you probably don’t know me. There are a few out there that might remember me from other places, by and large; I have become politically active here in Broward. I use the word “lunatic” because our current political realm is enough to drive anyone crazy with their idiotic insanity. Of course, my ramblings will try to make some sort of sense out of everything that is going on and will attempt to put some order to it so that you can see a clearer picture of what is happening in the world around you.
Not everyone will subscribe to my view points. I would venture to say, I might even piss off some of you readers. None-the-less, what ever you feel, it won’t change any of the facts that will be presented. You will need to decide for yourself whether you believe my view or not. You are in charge of your life and what you believe. I am just presenting the case. You will determine your own course of actions on how you want to handle your future.
For those of you who don’t know me, I am a Libertarian. I have been a Libertarian all my life (even though I didn’t know that for most of it). The issues I am about to bring forth are about what “I” perceive to be the shortcomings of the Libertarian Party and what the Party can do about it.
I have not yet been in contact with anyone at the national level regarding anything I am about to say here. The thought process that “all politics is local” tends to say to me that we should determine what works here in Broward first. Fix the issues here and then spread the wealth of new found results about what worked and what didn’t. If we can figure out what do to here and prove it works then we have a foundation to base fixing everything.
So, many of you are probably asking yourself “What the heck is he rambling on about?” The Libertarian party is nothing but a bunch of pot smoking conservatives. LOL – well – I wouldn’t categorize us in that manner but I must admit I do hear that a lot – LOL.
I will make it easy for you to understand. As a Libertarian I believe that everyone should be allowed to live their life as they see fit so long as they don’t use force or fraud to do it. If you believe this and live by this then you are a Libertarian whether you admit it or not.
We know that not everyone will get along in a society. To do so would require that 100 percent of the people are responsible for 100 percent of their actions 100 percent of the time and that all 100 percent of them know it 100 percent of the time. The probability of this happening is almost nil. It is so close to nil that it can be said that some form of mediator would be necessary to settle disputes – thus government is formed.
Governments should be in power to protect its citizenry from force or fraud. Anything beyond that is beyond the scope of government. As such, governments should be kept as small as possible and as limited in power as possible. To that end, people elect representatives who will fight for them in the halls of government.
The two party system as broke all of this in the United States. It will take a third party to wake up and do something about it if we are to save this country. The Libertarian party needs to play the part of the doctor and fix this country. If not, this country will continue its dying ways and our way of life, our freedoms will all disappear into the socialistic abyss as we march toward world government.
